Marlin are the top of the angler mountain, so to speak. No fish inspires more effort, or offers a tougher fight. Blue marlin are said to reach 2,000 pounds, though none have ever been landed. Catching a "grander" that reaches 1,000 pounds is considered an anglers milestone.
